Policy and tabled documents

From 1 July 2010, the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (the GIPA Act) requires the business centres of the Department of Communities and Justice to publish 'open access information' on their websites unless there is an overriding public interest against disclosing this information.

Open access information includes policy documents and documents created by the Children’s Court that are tabled in Parliament.

Practice Notes issued by the President of the Children’s Court under s23A of the Children’s Court Act 1987 are tabled in Parliament in accordance with s40 of the Interpretation Act 1987.
