The President of the Children's Court has issued a further Public Notice in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Enquiries relating to COVID-19-related fines

Following a recent matter in the Supreme Court of NSW, Revenue NSW announced the withdrawal and refund of some COVID-19-related fines. The Supreme Court has not yet published its judgment and reasons. Any relevant action for a matter before the Children’s Court (either still pending or finalised) will be decided after this judgment is available and affected cases are identified. We will provide an update as soon as this information is available.

Young people should contact their lawyer or Legal Aid NSW on 9219 5006 if they have any questions.

For fines issued by Revenue NSW (that have not been court elected), you can contact Revenue NSW on 1300 138 118 directly to discuss your situation. The news release is available here.

Opening hours

Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Getting to court

Trains: Central Train Station is approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the court.

Parking: Metered street parking is within close proximity of the court. Paid parking stations are also within walking distance of the court.

Buses: Bus services run throughout the CBD.

The court is located close to the Sydney CBD.
Surry Hills Children's Court is a purpose built children's court which replaces Bidura Children's Court.
